History of Grama Panchayat

Although the Ittiva Grama Panchayat area had high cultural standards in the past, some areas were destroyed and turned into forests due to attacks, diseases and natural disasters. About 300 years ago, migration started again and forests were cleared and converted into agricultural lands. Although the feudal system and displacement were strong, the locals worked against it in an organized manner after the 1940s. During the time when the caste system and untouchability were strong, movements were held to achieve social equality for the lower castes. During the Kadakkal Revolution, many people from this area participated in the freedom struggle.
